“Yea, Right...” [#21] (Matt.8:1-4)
“Speaking of ask” our Matthew notes,
“When he was through, there comes this bloke
Who’s blind, but willing to move on
In life – if blindness would be gone.A two-way readiness exists,
For change awaits on all like this –
“I will – be clean – but keep it hush –
To strategize is hard enough –“Without your blabbing ’round the town
Who picked you up when you were down”.
Once healed of blindness, would this bloke
Ease other blind folk of their yoke?“Oh yeah! Hush-hush – from leprosy
I’m cleansed, and now you’d have me be
Quite circumspect in what I say –
‘Hi honey – home – I’m here to stay’.“What if she’s married since I’m gone?
What if she says, ‘Hey – move along?’
What if my kids don’t recognize?
What if my neighbors criticize?“I tell no one what You have done?
The other lepers – if I run
Into their sorry livelihoods –
Say nothing in their neighborhood?”“Just not right now – this complex is
Already there’s some buzz and fizz
Since tables I turned ’round on them,
As opening in Jerusalem.”navigation
