“Life 101” [#20 A,B] (Matt. 7:1-14)
Seek?
Seek what?
Or is that more generic in this case?Like asking,
With its finding;And our knocking,
With its
Entrance,
Or its passage
Cleared
Away?When folded back,
Of course it’s plain to see –Thy kingdom come –
Seek that
As prime agenda,
And the rest
Falls into place.Do hunger list,
Or wish list,
Even longer –
And you’ll
See
What’s
Driving
You.Cause and effect,
Mixed in with
Who you are,
And when.Your piece of road –
Just do your
Piece
And let
The others
Do their thing.You cannot see
Much
With that
Timber in
Your eye –And nor can s/he,
So deal with that –
Ignore the others
And your
Business
Mind.There’s
Lots to
Seek and do
On your home
Turf.Be circumspect –
Don’t toss
Ideas in
The air –Like skeet
For other’s
Way
To sharpen up
Their aim –For
When they’re done,
They’ll
Sweep
The pieces
From the
Floor –And
Toss them
In the
Bin –Keep focus tight –
And take
Each narrow
Gate
Of challenge
At the start –There’s lots to do
So mind your
Journey –For your Father
Gives His guidance
Built right in –But choice is there –
Two doors,
Or Gates;
One better
Than the
Other –But it’s
Harder
Too –So ask,
And seek,
And knock,
As you
Explore
The best
The Father
Has in store
For
You.The easy way
Comes quickly,
But
It’s
Satisfying,
Then
Eludes us –
Then we
Say –This life of ours –
Is this
Just all
There is –Shoot
And get shot?With measure out
The measure
Which comes in?Elusive door –
And when it’s found,
We find not one
But two –
Or many
Are the
Options
In our lives –So,
Yes indeed,
We see two pairs,
And
Fragile
This
Beginning
As you
Caution
Them
And
Others –“Mind the door” –
Before they
Even enter –
“Mind the door” –Remember,
Your
Approach –To those
Outside –
It looks to them
As fragile
And as
Useless
As their
First attempts
Seem to
Your
Opening
Eyes –“Thy kingdom come” –
“The kingdom’s here” –
And yet –
In all the thrill
Of brand new
Starts –This thing
Of choice –
Of doors –
Confusion –
Asking –As we seek
To find
Our
Way.So judge them not –
And mind your task –
For it’s as new
To them as here
For you –Thanks Lord, for this.
