To Walk Again

I broke my leg, then learned to walk again;
It took some time – the doctor had to bend
It further than I wanted it to go;
He did not flinch, but pushed to make it so.

There was this wire – they sometimes leave it there,
But mine stuck out, the pain I could not bear;
I did the rest, then operation time
Let me run fast, and walk a straighter line.

Before, when young, my leg was in the cast
Two months to keep it still until at last
Growth evened out – but pain to bend at first
A challenge was – I through that limit burst.

That’s me again – in business I had walked;
Then not so much – more theory I had talked;
Now stiff and sore, it’s changed a lot to now,
But I’ll be fine – computers now allow –

Me to do parts I’d never done before;
New markets rise, resource, supports galore,
Like publishing – “click” and we’re underway;
And contact lines through which our clients pay.

But it’s the same, like walking from the start –
Exchange of goods and service; do our part;
And I’m the same, though more mature my thought;
The world’s the same – somewhere twixt start and ought.

Thanks Lord, for this.
