Horse Selection Time

But now I see, though blind I was before,
I could not do my business for I wore
A mantle still – commitment to the quest
I’d journeyed forth to find out for the rest –

The missing piece – renewal would not work,
Not just for me – for all – I undertook
A task to find out why we floundered so;
They would not fund, so on my own I’d go.

On thinking back, first time I went back in,
It sickened me – pulled back, could not begin
To do my life with question unresolved;
It would not work ’till it was overhauled.

Then Millicent asked me that day ’bout use –
“Which one’s for you, if once more you could choose?”
“I’d work in film – both pay about the same.”
“Then do that one (and do so in His name).

“Some places simply do not fit the bill;
Let go of wealth, or income, do God’s will
In places where you thrive; don’t grind you down;
Engage in life; are fun to be around”.

So there it is, my Lord, and what the heck,
Engaged I was, resolving out the quest;
That’s done, and now it matters not from here
The context used, to me that seems quite clear.

For Lord, I’m hearing, “Now Stu, having gone,
Into the world, you won’t have gone far wrong
If you disciple those you come across,
I’ve given to you – so give, don’t count the cost.

Thanks Lord, I see that life must carry on;
I’ll do my part, wrap up, then I’ll be gone;
That other hands will walk on down the road,
As they, in turn, into Your world will go.
