Potpourri (Hebrews 11:1-6; James 2:14-17)
Such potpourri it was today,
Tumult of deep emotions –
My friend at start of week from hell,
A conflict of devotions.My colleague shared his view of faith,
Of trusting as a basis,
Unseen, but walking in His Word –
While challenge now he faces.And far away, another life
With challenge to his working,
By those who’d like to see him gone,
Who think the work he’s shirking.At evening when the sun has set,
Tomorrow’s roads dividing,
A life poured out that we have peace,
May shift where he’s residing.Adventure starts; while others’ plans,
And hopes, have turned to ashes;
Careers that start with high intent,
Events and time then smashes.Through seven days of life this week,
Be with the folks around me;
And as I walk this road with them,
May love and grace flow through me.Thanks, Lord.
