“To Be Of Use”
I see it now – or part of it at least –
My company, once market I had reached
With film, and game, and tourist-tape – “Oh well”,
I’d said as cash dropped – film I could not sell.In from the cold I came to do a job
With cable access – piles of time I logged;
It was a mess, then back to school I went;
I learned a lot and found out what it meant.That was the point “Eight Hours” first showed its head;
I tried it out, no-go ’till Gerber read;
That was the point I knew what I should know,
To run a corporation here below.But then my roads got tangled twixt BU
And RAI, and White Bear project too;
I used my corporation in that mix,
And pushed on through ’till learning-style was fixed.And then the spat with Redvers – over what?
Some status miffed, as clergy faced a glut,
And politics of power played out its hand,
Amidst an ag-ec crisis in our land.I cooled my heels, went once more back to school
To look at cash, economy, and fool
Around with thesis – Andrew Murray’s stuff;
Then novels, cancer, Qwest resolved – enough!While Graham’s project rose with question asked –
“Prosperity with righteousness” can last
How long in biz, if it gets off the ground?”
We took a look – no answer’s yet been found.But in the midst of walking down that road,
The loop was seen, and Qwest lost all its load;
Baton was passed, reward? My choice of tasks –
“Do one of those – Ap-ministry at last”.So there we are – I laid it down, I saw
A lot of times – some gentle, sometimes raw;
It all applied to me – “I take it up
At God’s command, as drinking from the cup”.That’s what I’ve seen, in part at least right now;
It’s Winnipeg – for I could not see how
I could press on – no cash, young family,
A starving-garrett-artist was not me.My road divided in the summer wood;
I said goodbye to film I understood;
Came in from cold as questing I pursued;
(That was the core – and TCK the glue –Which stuck me fast, it could not go away,
For quest was me, at home, school, work, or play –
It tripped me up no matter what I did;
It’s now resolved – of that bad scene I’m rid).“Long work” indeed – baton passed on to Mike;

A way to do Ap-Ministry I choose;
I see it now – do all and “Be of use”.I also see – without the quest resolved,
I could not do Ap-Ministry – now solved
Was where I stood in dealing with the folks
