Focus

When business is the action, not a horse I ride upon,
Are things different in the springtime once the frost and snow are gone?
Does the focus of our action shift in sunny summertime?
Are there changes in the autumn where our summer work’s refined.

There’s a shift I sense is coming from the work I did before;
There’s a challenge in the offing which is calling me far more
Than I’ve ever done in winter, springtime, summer – now it’s fall,
I’ve a hunch it is a challenge which demands my all in all.

Lord, please open up my hands and heart, and mouth, that what I write,
Will be precious, not be useless, be accepted in Your sight;
Thank You Lord for giving eyesight to this beggar who’s been blind,
Like those blind men in Your story, may Your will come to my mind.

Lord, I’m hearing, “Keep on writing, Stu, to paper put your pen;
There are those who cannot comment, write, express themselves, but then,
I have put you in this context to provide for them a choice
(‘Keep your silence or start talking – for I’ve given you a voice’).

“That’s a task for you that’s sacred – don’t be fritting it away;
Listen closely to the people I’ll be sending you each day;
You’ll exchange their words for money when My word’s been added in –
Start this work when you are ready – for you’re able to begin.
