Abide (John 12:34-36)
To stay in You, O Lord, my God,
To me is like that flying pod
That Spielberg made, things zooming by
As hero streaks across the sky –But with him in the other chair
A passenger is freaked – is scared
At buzzing world, exploding ships,
And wishes they could call it quits.That’s me, O Lord, there in that chair;
This buzzing world; me not prepared
Like basketball, my brief career,
I was clued out – that much was clear.“Okay” I hear You say to me,
Sit tight, hang on, and you’ll soon see
What must be done by you each day,
To see ‘If righteous life can pay’.“For you’ve no time to sit around,
So buckle up, we’ll start a round
Of learning what one needs to know
If on this highway you should go.I’ll drive, you stay in Me throughout
This buzzing part, there is no doubt
It will seem strange, it always does
When one starts such a journey, ’cause –“It’s unfamiliar turf to you;
Priorities within your view
Have not emerged, but soon they will;
Let’s go – we have some daylight still”.Thanks Lord, for this.
