Out Of The Park... (Matthew 6:19-21; 13:44-46)

When bat hits ball with strong connect,
It leaves one breathless, stunned, and yet
That’s nothing, in my point of view –
When thought connects – what can one do?

Right out of park, though slow at start;
Some points on base, but then that arc
Came over plate, fair, and good height –
“Invert the yarn to view it right”.

He did – connected – off it flew –
“The merchant’s God, not me or you;
The one who found the treasure too
Is God – that change your point of view?”

For that makes us an item rare;
And God, “all in”, takes on the dare
To rescue what’s now lost in dirt;
A treasure sought despite the hurt.

And then he said his clinching line –
“And now it is communion time,
When we recall how great the cost
God paid, in Christ, to save the lost”.

My head still reels with insight new;
How can we give our thanks to You
For seeking each of us when lost?
“All in” – we’re worth to You, the cost.

Lord, thank you for this Word today;
Your insight moving him to say,
“God values you in field or shop,
You’re valuable beyond all thought”.

Lord thank you for Your Scripture true,
Which lights our minds to what You do,
And who You are, Your saving acts,
Which seek us out, to bring us back.

Thank You Lord, for this.
