A Twist On Labor ’Neath The Son
Now there’s a twist I had not seen –
I’d heard them talk, the rest had been
Quite surface – here he laid out part
Of how it plays here since the Ark.Co-heirs we are, we own the farm
In Christ, that is, so, give a darn
About the world that’s ours of course,
And steward it and world’s resource.But, further on another layer –
Care for each other kingdom player;
Draw others in to party time
Here on the Earth for Earth is thine.Don’t selfish be – it’s for us all –
“Opt-in”, enjoy, an order tall
Awaits us as we join team,
Regardless what our past has been.If you’re hot stuff, or calcified;
Betrayed His friendship, or denied;
Just stopped and stared in disbelief
As Christ was strung up like a thief –It matters not – the banquet’s on;
Come in, sit down, and hum along;
Your past’s wiped out, forgiven friend;
In Christ, co-heir now live again.This much at least we each can say,
Resourced to do it in our way –
In Christ – “It’s garden of the King;
From tree of life – let feast begin”.Why “seize” if it’s already ours
In Christ – with flow of Spirit’s powers
Through us to Kingdom bring about
On earth as heaven – or hereabouts?For heaven and earth are now the place,
In part at least, for human race –
A foretaste of our life above,
Availed to us through God’s great love.Assignments take – do “this and that” –
Give God some room on earth to act;
Let Christ the heavy lifting do
In lives of other folks, through you.navigation
