The Nest

New business is a fragile state,
From crack of dawn when we awake,
’Till setting sun gets us some rest,
“Fifth Business” problems we address.

In Opera that’s how it is done,
Such players make it lots of fun;
They problem-solve the basic plot,
“Fifth Business” smoothes each lumpy spot.

In barbershop that role is played
By baritone, whose lines are laid
Through harmonies which interweave –
A “whole” impression’s what they leave.

So too with business enterprise,
If fledglings are to grow and thrive –
An incubator is the way
Some cities smooth the start-up’s way.

So, Eyrielit could play that role,
Though in behind it we would know
There’s more, much more so they don’t die;
In Eyrie there’s a watchful eye.

For Phoenix-like from ashes rise
Each troubled, fumbling, enterprise,
Encapsulating dreams folks have;
“Fresh Start” checked out by owner’s dad.

So what’s the constant in behind?
Who’s in the nest? Whose of a mind
To see what’s needed, plug it in
So life renewed can now begin?

For all that’s seen is Phoenix bird
Upon a sign, which seems absurd –
Say hey! He is quite Phoenix-like,
Which makes his role seem somehow right.
