The Balanced Life
The givers crave a balanced life throughout their days;
Advise we live our lives as cool ones, never phased;
Buy time to do whatever task before them lies;
Primary task for Christian church? Evangelize.That’s how they understand the mission-task that pays;
Apostle? Former title back in early days,
No longer needed in our church – “Evangelize –
Bring folks to kingdom-life in Christ before each dies”.That’s fine – no problem there – except it doesn’t work;
If you don’t break the culture’s code you’ll wear a smirk
From how much smarter you are than the reticent;
Ignoring question tripping them, and what it meant.Each culture has a question with no answer fair;
Its members thrash, can’t free themselves, get out of there;
You think your culture’s answer-mix will work for them;
It won’t – you say, “God bless you”, on their way you send.Compassion-people don’t find “groups” I helpful tool;
See boundary-making as a process of the fool;
Experience they do a world of unity –
A part – but not the whole of body entity.Those groups can’t sense each other’s gifts, so write them off –
“No boundaries”; “balanced life” they tout and then they scoff;
If person has them both, they’re really reticent,
Yet trapped they are – cut off from where they have been sent.“If you just did your life my way, then you would be okay”;
That’s what we say, but I’m not wired up your way;
If you’re not stuck, well, good for you – just look around,
For folks are stuck, tied up, they’re blocked, or inward bound.God’s work through me is Jubilee – set captives free;
You’re on your way – well good, you have no need of me;
Perhaps you’d rather tend a group of captive sheep;
That’s fine – but not the heart of Jesus’ work through me.To breach a wall or obstacle it’s best to place
A focused force beneath the snag to block displace;
So “even balance” is not helpful in my task;
When focused, block’s removed – they’re freed at last.Compassion’s “unity” is only part of truth;
Divisions, separations – trunk, and limb, and fruit –
All have their tasks to do within a unity
That’s known to one and all as farmer’s apple tree.navigation
