Two Blinds Don’t Make A Sight

Encourager’s have charts and books
Of helpful tools – to outside looks
It’s quite impressive, but to their tools
Have truth within, but we’d be fools –

To think such pablum, watered-down,
Was more than truth that floats around
On Internet as workshop shtick,
Which counselors dismissed with ‘click’.

But not encourager’s – they ere
When they believe their workshop fare,
And start to think there stuff is truth –
It’s not – but no one gives reproof.

Perceivers have a blind spot too –
They think their sight reveals the truth;
It’s clear (all truth is clear we know)
But all that’s clear’s not truly so.

So blind believer, blind in-sight –
Together they don’t get it right;
So why are these two, in a team,
Both fooled to think as true what seems –

So clear to others as just shtick
We use to push folks from the ditch?
It’s cash – perceivers tender spot –
Just dangle cash – they dance a lot.

That turns their insight button off;
Prevents their quick health-giving scoff
That’s needed buy-in to prevent,
When “pom-poms” shift to “heaven sent”.

Sure, it’s all true far as it goes,
And other gifts to mix with those
Can balance out their blindness fine –
But problem’s mostly span of time.

Perceiver, with big picture view,
“Drops down” to earn some cash – will do
Small things so s/he can stay alive,
Earn cash so s/he can live (not thrive).

As well, three lists of gifts Paul gives –
First, “motivation” – how each lives;
Then pass-through grace – the Spirit’s gifts
Through us as body He assists.

The third are types of people sent
To build the body, which Paul meant
To be a guide – alert us to
Christ’s five-fold ministry – a view.

We often think in ‘Priestly’ terms,
As ancient shadow-ways we learn;
But it’s not tied to paper chit
(Christ gives to us in spite of it).

Authority from heaven’s here;
Credentials are permission clear,
To filter out each Churches’ jerks,
But in our system danger lurks –

For we don’t like truth clarified,
Perceiver’s words by which we’re fried;
So, like the pom-pom man with book,
We tell Perceivers not to look –

But head on home and fry some schmuk –
“Do three a week, you’ll be in luck;
I’ll pay you just to idle there
Your motor – make as if you care.”

But please don’t shine your light on this,
Our fancy tool, destruct our bliss;
Dumb down and focus on their need –
Encouragers don’t take the lead.

Encourager you’re not, my friend,
You’ve hit another block – dead end,
Which all perceivers run into,
Thus blocking light on what we do.
