Old Saying
Old saying runs in clergy-land,
Its essence I now understand –
“Give board a job for it to do,
Or they will do your job for you”.That’s why I ask those questions, man,
Once deer jump out before your van
You’re going to hit them, quite a mess –
So act ahead – the cost is less.That’s God’s economy in fact –
“Anticipate, then early act”
(No medals, though, for hero when
Avoidance one thus comprehends).Lift up your eyes; scan road ahead;
Evasive action take instead
Of trouble on the road at night –
God’s running things – He’s always right.You need not fear that truth won’t hold –
It will, it’s solid, like Christ told
His men, “I am way, truth, and life –
Bank on that fact, and hang on tight –For you’re in for a merry ride –
Truth sets you free if you’ll abide
In it, in Me, but first it makes
You miserable – rough road it takes.navigation
