Counterfeit And The “Actively Willing” Part
My problem’s not the counterfeit, my problem is the twist;
It’s not so much the real’s not right, more, does the real exist?
This culture is a shambled wreck in area of cash,
So, “What’s the norm from Jesus view?” That’s central to my task.Lord, when I asked long years ago to lift this mess from me,
Take blinders from my eyes and give me Your economy,
You took me well along that road, but this is quite bizarre –
(“See clearly” is not truth of course, more “clear as things now are”).My problem is I cannot see, and culture round’s a mess;
It’s twisted view of money is their basis of success;
Not everybody lives that way, but all affected are;
No matter where one picks it up it always seems bizarre.I’m no exception – fact I am more twisted than the rest;
I am a mish-mash of two ways, with neither one the best;
So what I’m hearing, “Take the log out of your eye first, Stu,
Then you can see more clearly how their sliver’s pulled by you.”Okay, O Lord, where do I start in letting You clean house?
“Pick up the task where you now are – repair your flooded house;
You’re part way there, so finish up, and get things back to rights,
Then you will see the next step, rise from there to greater heights.It’s not as bad as you might think, first blush seems often bleak;
It’s twisted – counterfeit that is – of better way you seek;
You’ve learned some parts, so plug them in, and build up your own house;
I’ll guide the way, and show you how, so you’ll not be a louse.For doing work on your affairs will force you to engage
With others in society, observe – which gets you sage
About what’s going on out there within old Giver-Land,
So by the time you’re done your house, that part you’ll understand.Okay, thanks Lord.
