Push On?

Temptation now is push on through,
Leave all the work I’ve got to do
To close this off, oh! What a blast!
To see these modules done at last.

I’ve twenty-three or so to go,
Assembled in two binders, so
They cluster round those rings of life,
Which funnel-shaped, shed so much light.

And when I’m done I’ll have a guide
Based on the Scripture – what a ride
It’s been to see these hand-books grow;
But that’s the point – I’ll never know –

What I’m to do, or see You Lord,
If focused I am on Your Word,
Instead of being in Your grace
In interaction You embrace.

Just like You said long years ago,
“You think that in the Word you’ll know
Me – but they point to Me, that’s all,
So turn to Me before you fall.

“So, Stuart, just abide in Me;
Start out each day upon your knees,
And seek to take each step in Me
Together We will future see.”

Okay, O Lord, I’ll push on through
This journey I have come with You;
Thanks for this caution at this point,
Which helps me once again anoint –

Your head and feet, like long ago
That woman did, through which I know
As Nee said, “Once Your value’s seen,
No thing exceeds the good you mean.

And even now I think I see
It’s time – it’s flow, its cost to me
Is most – but that’s best spent in You
In all the things You’d have me do.

Not “Gawking at the Logos”, Bob
Would put it – rather do my job
Of apostolic ministry
In giver-land – You’ve given to me.

Thanks, Lord, for this corrective note,
As I start out today – I vote
To follow You where e’er You lead
Today – on Bread of Life to feed.

Thanks.
