Had I Known (Then)...

Had I known then what I know now,
I wonder where I’d be – somehow
I doubt it would be changed that much,
For it’s still me and such and such.

Oh yes, the route would different be –
A road through money’s history –
For numbers still a problem are
Without that tool I’d not get far –

I don’t think much with number tool;
Way back, grade one, I looked the fool;
“Intuitive of value’s space”
Is quite intact in any case.

Friend Branson had that chutzpah charm,
With Midas touch in midst of harm
In practice – but that’s not my role –
I search for ways to make men whole.

But when I walked that journey through
To see (as knowing) what I’d do,
I found I came back to this spot
By different route and dragons fought.

For in the dojo where I am,
Opponent? me – and best I can
Observe, the same me needed aid
To clear a path that way be laid.

Perhaps some rocks might different be
To clear, and make such road for me;
But in the end, it’s me and life,
And grace of God throughout the strife.

So here I am with sum-sheets done;
Symmetrical it was – and fun
To do – but what’s the use of it?
More stuff to on the shelf now sit?

For it’s now sectioned like my life;
Illuminates my way all right,
But what of now? (Life’s first for me
And then the text I plainly see).

Oh! Text – augment the text now, Stu –
Live life out first, update your view,
Then share what comes to light for you –
Augmented text-book work’s to do.
