Hitting Bedrock

When you have hit what’s not for sale, you know you’ve come to bedrock;
It might seem strange, but persevere and push on through the small talk,
For you’ve hit basis of their life, the base of their formation,
And once you’ve put the footings there, there'll be a great creation.

Until that point, it scattered is, the parts don’t hang together,
But once you’ve found where bedrock is, you need not fear the weather;
For that won’t budge, come wind and rain, volcanoes or tornadoes,
Each one of us foundation has – like roots for our tomatoes.

Christ said we need to clear the land, prepare the soil for planting;
Roots must go deep in fertile soil – that’s work, not whine or ranting;
For roots in soil draw up the food one needs for harvest plenty,
Give stable base, foundation like, so garden won’t blow empty.

It might take poking ’round a bit to find the part that’s basic,
But that is easy once you’re there, you know the task you’re facing;
It’s like, “Key question”, which I ask, sometimes it comes out funny,
But once it’s dusted off a bit, the person’s up and running.

Thanks Lord.
