First Streaks Of Light

And then it came – extremity of course –
But more than that, first streaks of dawn,
And promise of a brightening day
That was already in His mind,
And being there,
Already was –

Good break it’s been – canoeing in the woods –
Relaxed I was, and slept right through
To wake, and cook, and share the lore
That I’d received from many hands –
And having learned,
He now could teach.

I said my peace – foreshortened version, sure –
Then in response, he laid it down –
No blue was needed, pink sufficed,
With bridge of course to other folks
He being pink
Was quite enough.

For pink is warm – and blue a cooler way –
And in the warmth of tribal shop,
Incisive insight could pour out
To those who lacked the view to make their way;
But having it,
Could persevere.

His gift to me – quite indirect of course –
Came in the need of holding space
While he address the need for cash –
I learned some skills which focus brought –
Augmenting text
Was now the way.

First streaks of dawn – are not full day as yet –
But in the insight he laid out
A way appeared – no way before
Was there for us to blithely walk –
Now being there,
New hope’s emerged.
