The Sandwich Generation
There is this man
Upon whose shoulders
I ride on
And move forward
In this life
Today –Who is no man,
But God with us,
Who has come
That we might
Have a life
That’s full of
Joy –
I say –I need you, Lord,
For burdens on my heart
And in my life;If I were to look up
Or down
Or ’round,Would crush
The life from me –So fast
I would not even
Know that
I had made –The switch –
From faith
To “fact”.“O Lord, my God”
The rising swell
Of song we sang
In Church
Short time
Ago –Answers me so –
For there are those
Who’ve also walked
This vale –And ’cause of them
I can move
Forward –
To the future go.Dear Lord,
Please take
This burden
From my heart.And let me
Of Your future see –The one you hold,
The one in which
Your special workIs done –
Done by Your hand,
As You pour
Life
Through me;Lord, it is fear –
Not of unknown,
But known –
The kind
Which might
Not be –But grips my heart,
And shows
Me once again
How fragile
We all are,
As we move on
In thee.Please ease my life
Of this excessive load,
That I might
Forward go –And feel support,
As we move on
Into a future
You’ve revealed,
That I,
In You,
Might victory
know.Thanks Lord, for this.
