First Jewel He Dusted off (Matthew 13:44)
And there it lay, that jewel in the light –
“I'm tool of God, not rod I hold so tight –
It took six plagues till Moses saw it too”;
And now I see that insight shared by you.So, thanks, my friend, how elegant that was –
“ ‘Hold up your hand’– he held his staff because
Enamored he with tools that his command,
He could not hear, thus could not understand”.That rhema-word (enlivened from the page)
Explains so much – how you are now engaged
In doing that – perhaps someday some rod
Like David’s armor, later will serve God.But now it seems, this lesson you engage
As you pursue the life heard through that page;
Indeed we live not by the loaf alone,
But rhema-word from God – that we must own.As I return to work this week, my friend,
That word I take, through all my efforts blend
It’s meaning, as I learn to use new tools
But more relaxed – so not like Moses fooled –To thinking I need tools to do God’s work;
They help, but God wants us not to be jerks –
To be with Him, co-workers in His field,
That those He calls to Him – will hear and yield.Thanks, David.
