Projected Loss

What are you afraid you’ll lose
If you continue on, or choose
To look around this world you’re in
With earthly eyes, with eyes of sin?

O Lord, so terrified I’ve been
I could not cope – could not begin
To live that out – my hope’s in You
Help me to act as one of You.

Your word, O Lord, about past faith’s,
So much like mine as I awake
And face this day – no shining star,
But rather grope for where You are.

I thank You Lord, that I can play
Some role in helping him today;
Please guide my hand, alert to my heart
To do Your will, through work of art.

You say, O Lord, “I’ll give you words;
Write each one down as best you’ve heard,
For others need such words of grace
Expressed in ways which fit their case.

It’s giver-land you’re in today;
As giver you’ll finance his way
Into a world designed for him –
With righteousness – the way he’ll win.

Lord what about that little shop?
What should I add to what he’s got?
“He needs a place to move his wares,
Expression of a heart which cares.

“A place where other folks can work;
Take concepts learned, where spirits lurk
From strongholds built to keep him in;
Help them succeed – help others win”.
