If I Drop Down
If I drop down my gaze and view this world
From where it came, above this constant swirl –
I’m overwhelmed, Lord keep my gaze above
The view from here – where we live out Your love.I cannot cope with life as viewed from here,
It lacks resource and vision, that is clear;
It has no hope, no faith, no love, no light
For those who fall from daylight into night.Lord keep my life as I return once more
To lend a hand, help those whom You adore;
My spirit’s lift as I begin my work,
And banish those dark shades which constant lurk.O Lord, I hear Your word the other day,
“What’s in your house? Through which your debts I’ll pay;
The work is mine, not yours, press on today;
You’ve done your part, your cares upon me lay.”navigation
