Reflections On Chapter Four Title (Sun Tzu chapter 4 title) (1 Peter 5:6-11)

Formation – keep it nebulous,
And tactics – with them do not fuss;
Control of power is central here,
So wins in war can then appear.

Considerations tactical,
And dispositions practical,
Expressed as “Hsing”, or form, or shape –
Keep loose at first, then focus take.

If you’ve to form committed first,
The other side can do their worst;
Once weakness in your form is seen,
Your troubles start if they are keen.

But if you keep your force unformed
Until it’s needed shape is learned,
They cannot see your weaknesses
Till your formed-power decreases his.
