Sit Tight (Fawcett #6) (Psalm 116:7; Nehemiah 6:1-14)

Saladin won the Holy Land,
When Guy went out and took his stand
Upon a Hill – the well went dry,
And desert helped his men to die.

The forts and cities of his day,
Meant he could win if he would stay
Inside the walls which were quite stout –
He, overconfident, went out.

Sometimes we fret and stew at things,
Go out and meet approaching Kings;
We take their bait; and don’t hold back;
Don’t sit back down – hence we get trapped.

Old Nehemiah was quite smart;
At fixing walls he got his start;
Then enemies a meeting called,
But he stayed home where it was walled.

Two instances in Holy Land –
Both men had chance to take a stand,
But one was smart and used his brain –
For braun, misused, can end the game.
