I Understand This Now I’m In (Sun Tzu Chapter 2 Overview) (Luke 14:25-35)

I understand this now I’m in,
Its problems to a man of sin –
That is, rebellion from our God,
Who placed us here upon this sod.

Resource – for here he takes a look
At resource issues in his book;
No money or resources for war,
And you will lose to blood and gore.

But ask the European Jews
If money’s all – if they had used
It in their own defense those days,
When Nazi’s had attacked their ways.

For they had wealth – not all, but lots;
So “cash is king” is true, but not
Alone, for life is more complex
Than just one part – as we’ll see next.

But frightful is the drain of war;
Most people all its ways abhor,
And by the end they shake their heads
At losses suffered, people dead.

Percent of equity that’s cut,
Is seventy, and that is tough;
Of that, just forty is recouped –
The rest’s destroyed as wartime’s fruit.

So if you must engage in war,
Sun Tzu says cut the drain some more;
He lists some ways, explorers some,
Which from his days of warfare come.

Christ also speaks of warfare’s loss –
How God the Father counted cost
Of stopping Satan in his tracks,
And saw there was resource for that –

For those of us who joined with Him
Though in the end He saw He’d win,
Most friendship would resemble hate,
With loss complete, and life negate.

Reduce the drain as we go forth?
With wisdom, yes (it’s His resource),
And guidance which He gives to us,
Like here, can help us in such fuss.
