Some Nuances Of Size (Sun Tzu 3:7) (Matt.26:36-46; 1 Cor.1:17-2:5; Phil.2:6-11; 1 Samuel Chapter 17; Judges Chapter 6&7; Jonah 2:8)

But what of little finger in the mix?
Does being small doom pinky to a fix
He cannot fix, because of smaller size?
Well, yes and no – for we must real-ize –

That being pinky ’gainst two hands of men,
Holds different options, most involving pain;
And pain’s designed to save us in a fight
(Aversion rises swiftly facing might).

There are some cups which cannot pass us by
Unless they’re drunk – and I will tell you why –
For us they open up a way of life,
Which sanctifies our actions in the fight.

The base is this, as Sun Tzu pointed out –
The bigger side will win without a doubt;
Though stronger is implied in numbered size,
The smaller one is toast, all realize.

There’s also fact of time within the mix;
A small and stubborn force can play some tricks,
And thus delay the larger – helping out
Their team in larger picture, there’s no doubt.

So smaller size, if flexible, has hope;
But if they can’t be weak, chance is remote
That they will ‘stand’ as candle is snuffed out –
‘Ensnaring actions’ give another route.

‘Dynamic actions’ of the stronger side,
Inspire us as swashbuckling they ride
Their horses, red on black amidst the green –
Still done for show, such Mounties still are seen.

“For us this day is good in which to die”,
First Nations said, outnumbered ’neath the sky
With five percent remaining ’fore the fight;
Intact, in time, their numbers give them might.

With five smooth stones Goliath met his end;
And Gideon with trumpets took his men
Atop surrounding hills in dead of night,
And spooked the larger force with torch and fright.

So keep perspective long when things look bleak;
As Jonah in the whale, the long-view seek;
Sometimes the whale will spit you on the beach –
Then heed what such experience can teach.
