Sincerity (Sun Tzu 3:8) (1 Tim. Chapter 3; Matt. 15:14)

Sincerity – a word we learned as kids,
Means, “without wax”, a label which then bids
Us trust the product sold as being pure,
Thus strong, no fishers hidden (wax as cure).

So Generals portrayed within this verse,
If they’re corrupt, with gaps, that can reverse
The fortunes of the state – defective men,
Duplicitous, disloyal, bring an end.

View Generals as bulwarks – solid walls;
Or pillars holding roofs above our halls;
If either are defective you will pay –
Support of state must solid be each day.

Abilities and character are key;
Be careful with responsibility
For leadership, for close-support they give,
Embracing all your fortunes, let you live.

“ Can blind lead blind?” Christ asked, consider well –
Some leaders have good words, their speech is swell;
But actions are a problem – so don’t do
The things they teach with actions, guiding you.

“And if you’re choosing leaders”, counseled Paul,
“Be careful who you choose, assessing all
The factors of their personhood and style
For they will lead the group for quite a while”.
