“Oh I Went To The Enemy’s Camp...” (Sun Tzu 2:5) (Matthew 12:30-32; 24:42-51; 6:25-34; Mark 9:38-41; Luke 11:23; Ephesians 6:10-18)
If truth it is you wish to see,
Just who is with the enemy,
Just follow cash – that’s never wrong,
For where it goes, they tag along.Policemen say that’s true as well –
To see just follow cash, it tells
You what is really going on,
For money talks – it’s never wrong.Provision for the troops away,
Costs money, so it helps defray
Expenses – they live off the land;
Some locals lend a helping hand.But others raise their prices high –
“The Army’s here! I will not die
But make my fortune, hike my price;
Whoopee! A war! I’ll do all right!”But back at home folks harbor doubt –
“That’s nice, but what if we run out?
It costs a heap to ship that stuff,
Their prices will inflate – that’s rough”.The leaders can help out of course –
Move fast – don’t stop to reinforce;
Be just a bit ahead of foe,
It costs far less than food-to-go.The leadership must know the score –
How conflict raises hardships more;
How people lose in many ways;
So they must see quick ending pays.Equipment they should take from home;
Draw food and forage as they roam
across the land of enemy,
It saves a heap on drayage fees.It’s twenty sacks to one out there,
So don’t ship much for man or mare;
Provision from the enemy
Which brings us back to, “Who is he?”The army then well-fed will be;
At home there’ll be less poverty;
In government and on the farms,
Impoverishment won’t sound alarms.Then too, theft drops to minimum –
Long shipments shrink throughout their run;
With empty stomachs, troops can’t fight –
Supplies at hand will set things right.Two groups at home will pay such costs,
If to transporters funds are lost:
The peasantry; those with surnames
Who to the fore with resource came.Not many – just one hundred names,
In any place it’s just the same;
If they’re impoverished that’s no good,
For they’re the core – that’s understood.So, who in fact’s the enemy?
Not flesh and blood, that’s plain to see;
Though often they cooperate,
It’s not the people whom we hate.But evil – evil one instead,
The one who dickers with one’s head;
Says, “It won’t matter, no one cares”,
Then when we yield, to crap compares.The one who says, “What? Boards on ice?
Free-skating ’cross the pond is nice;
Come outside those restricting boards,
And taste free-skating’s great rewards”.Then, when we do, and find the game
Is slower, looser, not the same,
For its disrupted chasing pucks
Across the ice, he sits and clucks –“Too bad, you lose, I gotcha man;
You lost your wife; you’re in the can;
Your friends all hate what you have done,
As you free-skated just for fun”.Discernment’s needed in this case;
“Live off the foe – avoid the waste
Of transport when you should be fed
Out there where army has been led”.For who – just who is enemy?
“Old you know-who”, that we can see;
But cash, provision – where’s that found?
Confusing as we look around.Look around? Yes, look around.
Food, and provision will be found
For God supplies the sparrows’ seed,
And through His servants, servants feed.navigation
