Another Way? – Chapter Three Overview (Sun Tzu Chapter 3 General) (John 14:5-13; Matt. 3:03)

When we get roaring down the field,
Momentum gains, the others yield;
Intact or smashed the foe gives way,
But question hangs – what of today?

Was all this cost to benefit
The only way of ending it?
Was there some way around this fight –
To move to sunshine from the night?

Once war ensued, was there some way
To sue for peace, some word to say
Which could have ended loss of life,
And put a stop to painful strife?

As war dragged on, was loss of face
The only cause – avoid disgrace?
Is there some aspect we should know
Of self, or others – both – to go –

From battle-weary days we’ve seen,
To better life on earth – I mean,
Can we in days which lie ahead
Find better ways than hope that’s dead.
