Hard To Say (Sun Tzu 1:14) (Matthew 24:36-41)

The planners’ work that’s done today,
Is nebulous, thus hard to say
“It’s that, or this”, in language plain,
For victory’s a complex game.

Formation, like when water flows,
Adapts procedure when one’s foes
Emerge like rocks within a stream –
Assessed with mind when eyesight’s keen.

Plans made ahead must not leak out,
In fact, they can’t – what they’re about
Is mix of prior, current thought –
Fast-flowing stream; emerging rock.

It is a secret, yet it’s not;
Planned strategy, where stream meets rock,
Objective with subjective parts;
Best striking time – in war is art.

Christ said our minds should be prepared
For when He comes – when called from there,
One separates, runs Him to meet;
While other stays – hoes, mills, or sleeps.

We will not know, just like the rock,
When stream will flow – its movement’s not
What people know – not when, or where –
That Jubilee of Jesus’ care.
