Allurement (Sun Tzu 1:10) (1 Samuel 21:10-15)

Object in the end? Attack –
Crush the foe, no holding back;
But before you seize the day,
Here’s a bag of tricks to play –

Is arena far or near?
In your mind that must be clear;
Like magician’s sleight-of-hand,
Feign to be in other land.

Far? Look near; near? Look far;
Make him search for where you are;
In attack, objective too;
Keep him guessing what to do.

Distant points are really near;
Obfuscate how things appear;
Belief, illusion: going far?
Pack a picnic lunch, by Gar.

Lure, entice, and draw them in;
Hold out carrots, gains to win;
Bait with small advantages –
“Profits if you manage this”.

Use disorder in your game;
Fake it, let them think you're lame;
In their ranks disorder sow,
Then into the battle go.

When chaotic scene erupts,
Crush him ’till he says “enough!”
Fake confusion, watch for real;
When they chance it, strike with steel.

Achish was the king of Gath;
David went there – acted rash,
Mad in fact, so he’d escape;
Feigned insanity to make –

Life progress another day;
Very well his act he played –
To the list made by Sun Tzu,
One more thing which you can do.
