Jesus Once Again

Saw Jesus in your man today,
I sought him out to hear and say
What time to gather here to learn
Our traded info where we’d earned –

Respective dollars other times,
From alcoholics as they climbed
Back from the brink; and techno-mix –
Artistic ways to music fix.

And now tonight, as color flows
From lights above; and floodlights glow,
I now recall art’s skills once more,
As love for Christ up front outpours.

Through narrow slit in classroom door,
I saw him there; yet something more,
As he engaged with gaze intense
Six youth – engaged without defense.

And in that brief split-second scene,
I saw once more that Christ had been
Within those walls engaging lives –
With younger folks – about their wives.

So hunger, yes which we have felt –
Those pangs of want, where Christ has dealt
With us – gives what we have to share –
Our private moments of His care.

When I spent years, confused, up North,
Those friends observed, and then called forth
What they had seen of Christ through me –
Brought it to front, thus helped it be.
