Externalities
“ ’Scuse me if I don’t get up”
Is a phrase – when things are rough
Folks will say – like dirty hands –
“I would greet you – now I can’t”.First I heard of things like that,
Was my dad – men kept their hats
On their heads when one man died –
Blizzard whipped while mourners cried.Well, that’s how I feel today;
Stance at morning time to pray
Is affected – mice around;
Silence scurries on the ground.Yes, I kneel before Your throne,
Lord of all – I also own
That my mind is split today
With your creatures, Lord – that way.Strange how small things come to bear
On our thinking, seize our care;
Blocking out much greater things –
“First things first”, the mantra sings.Lord, today I start Son Tzu
As a guide, read what to do
As we press on in our course;
Spirit, guide us lest remorse –Be the end for all of us –
“Chasing pucks” and other fuss
Brought on selves – no hockey boards
Tightening game – ten precious words:God, name, image, Sabbath, mom,
Screwing, stealing, killing done,
Lying to put self ahead,
Wanting things for self instead.Ten strong panels to set up
On a frozen lake – enough
To ensure a faster game;
Tighter too – with ice the same.We need limits where we play,
Halting puck from wayward way;
Keeping us from spilling out
Of the focus we’re about.Inter-playing larger sets,
Business game is less complex,
As each puzzle-piece fits in;
Son Tzu’s life can now begin.It’s no pond-sized sheet of ice;
Panel-boards are good advice;
Externalities kept out –
Focused on what we’re about.navigation
