To And Fro, And Fro-ward
It’s hard for me to pull back, Lord, when all of me screams “froward”;
Not forward, froward – that’s the word – as one is “to and fro-ward”;
It’s not a word used much today, fra’ Scottish and the Vikings;
But “to and fro”, as back and forth’s still found in older writings.Rebelliousness – like three-year-olds who’d rather do life their way;
It’s what’s still meant by this old word, to some in life a mainstay;
We may not use it all that much, but it depicts my nature –
(Pull back) – “press on”; (move-up) – “back off” – reverse a daily feature.The Cree-folk know of types like me – contrary in our thinking;
In thought and action upside down, quite converse without blinking;
We have a role (outside the box), but daily life’s contrary;
For other folks prefer a world where words set-meanings carry.So hard it is to pull back, Lord, when upside down has meaning;
My normal bent is “other way”, to others perverse seeming;
But that’s okay, results they like, though process is confusing;
We each agree two ways to walk, till end results we’re using.navigation
