“Some Pass Before Us…” (Day of Angela’s funeral) [ End Of Costa Rica Poems].

Some pass before us, long before their time,
Like you, my friend, with others left behind;
“Forever young”, like soldiers in the field;
With lives cut short – do not to aging yield.

Life will go on, like rivers to the sea;
Your boy will grow; best friend, your futures see;
The church will heal, blessed on its way by you;
And work will pass, filled out by staff that’s new.

We do not see beyond the veil today;
By faith we walk this land, enlivened clay;
By faith believe in some way it’s sublime –
Surprise for all – eternal’s shift from time.

Oh, Father-God today we say farewell;
This time of parting, mystery, and hell
On earth for those of us who now are left;
Be with these folks, relieved, confused, bereft.

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
