“Get ’Em Out There!” [Reflections on: Berger, John and Mohr, Jean, with help from Nicholas Philbert, Another Way of Telling, NY: Pantheon Books, 1982, 308p. - section 3]
Like poems are photos in singles or sets,
Folks like ’em or hate ’em (not new, but I get
A lot from one fellow) – said, best spread ’em ’round.
So readers, quite scattered, can somehow be found.If one likes a poet, how life is expressed,
And not so much others, best we not forget
That readers must first find a type that they like,
So, spatter ’em ’round so, the fit is just right.I hunch that is true for one’s photo-sets too –
Like these in this book, which I’m sharing with you;
So now that I get it, the market I see –
It’s “grocery store sampler” they give out to me.A bright trail of breadcrumbs like fairytale yarn,
Leads Hensel and Gretel back home, with no harm;
So cards, and one’s emails, and platforms galore,
Make ways for one’s photos to lead to one’s door.So thanks for the insight through this little book;
It sat on my bookshelf, ’till I took a look
At what they were saying ’bout Another Way
Of Telling a story – what memories can say.Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
