“Regarding ‘The Beginning’” [Reflections on: Berger, John and Mohr, Jean, with help from Nicholas Philbert, Another Way of Telling, NY: Pantheon Books, 1982, 308p. - section 5]

A final photo in this book
Made me adapt its title – look
At what they’ve done – not circle ’round,
But venture out – to newer ground.

For process they describe in here,
Is laid out well, dig deep – it’s clear
That this old fellow (stands in for
Another subject) at his door –

At first I thought they meant, return
Back to their start, but then I learned
That out ahead, once seed-pix comes
To mind, a story-board then runs –

Into “his” future-past of thought –
Encountered when we have taught
To “run a line of story pix
In singles, groups,” results quite rich.

What comes to mind is photo book
By Michael Orwig – take a look –
This one’s about what needs be done
If poems are by photos sung.

But, Orwig’s book is more “How-to”
Pull all that off – more what to do.
To translate poesy to pix;
These books, when mixed, can be quite rich.

Thanks Holy Spirit for this.
