“What Can I Bring? [Pandemic series]

I wonder, Lord, as we begin today
To rebuild lives, once vibrant in their way,
What can I bring to scene of such despair
So many feel, as smoke now fills the air?

“Good humor, Stu – a joke; a laugh; a smile;
It’s not that bad – though locked down for a while;
Yes, stop and grieve (I’ll give five minutes time),
Then let it go – new options are sublime.

“Keep eyes on young – they carry on, despite
Life’s messiness, their attitudes quite light;
They look for cues from old, how to behave
When loss is past – for life beyond the grave.

“That’s what you know – for light beyond the trees
Bids all move on, as hope springs up and frees
Us to reach out, take opportunity
Not possible before disaster freed.

“Sun Tzu said once, all life has good and bad
Admixed within each situation sad;
So seek the good, and brush away your pain –
You’ve been there once, show how to start again.

“Stu, Sun Tzu’s tools are there for you to use –
Reversed, of course, to lift, not just abuse
The folks on hand, who feel the weight of loss;
Now ease their loads, and laugh at present’s cost”.

Okay Lord thanks for this.
