Political Process Based Approaches to Local Economic Development

Economic Development workers who use a political process approach to their task tend to focus their attention on what is called by the political economy oriented people the "Growth Machine". That is, they regard their task primarily as interfacing with the movers and shakers in the upper levels of the community to include the marginalized within their constituency in obtaining a greater share of the benefits of economic development. They are not impressed with the "grow now, trickle later" theory as the trickle is both too little and too late.

The links below relate to sites addressing economic development at the community level as it relates to the political process.
