Poems Relating To "Easy Does It"
- "Time To Ease 'Er Back A Bit" (Feb/13/15) As we get older, we have many adjustments to make to our lifestyle. Remembering we are not as agile as we once were is a challenge at times. Accepting life change is all part of self acceptance in recovery. A fall on a slippery slope at night reminded me of this fact.
- " Just Stop " - June/26/10Sometimes we need to just stop.
Poems Relating To "Let Go and Let God"
- "The Gasket" (Feb/11/15) Being in a cross-cultural situation as a 'bridge person" or "gasket between two plates in a motor" involves a lot of heat and pressure, and calls for us to lie still and let God work through the situation as He wishes to (or not). The gasket image is from my personal quest, reflecting the discovery that "Apostle" originally meant one who Jesus trained to go over their comfortable cultural walls into a cross-cultural situation, that is, they were to be cultural boundary jumpers. There is a high cost to such activity - always.
- "What Grace Today?" (Feb/12/15) When we combine work in a cross cultural context with the work of recovery It can get confusing. Sometimes it is not our move.
Poems Relating To "Faith is A Lighted Doorway; But Trust Is A Dark Hall"

- "Invitation To Live" [Module#366] ( ) (April/03/15) Our invitation to live is an invitation to join in a process rather than an invitation to a destination, as if the initial decision were all there was to life.
Poems Relating To The Serenity Prayer (A) - God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
- " First Steps " - Aug/20/09 Just like the snow covers up things until we can finish them in the spring, life moves on, and we have to just stop doing things sometimes. Then when spring rolls around, these activities have often faded in importance.
- " Each Day " - Sept/11/09 Sometimes we have to let situations go and let God handle them. Prayer then is leaving ourselves at God's disposal in relation to the situation, in case He thinks of something we could do something that would give him some more room to operate there.
Poems Relating To The Serenity Prayer (B) - The courage to change the things I can;
- "One's Priamry Zeal" (31/Mar/15) Delays in our life agenda can be overwhelmingly discouraging. Hence this part of the prayer.

Of course, if you run into a better way, truth, or life at its best and you run into Him. He's all over the place...I think becuse that is where we are...all over the place...
- " Words Cannot Speak " - Oct/24/09I went by a truck full of University student's goods heading out to the farm around "voluntary withdrawl deadline date" and wondered in this poem what this boy's situation was, and how he would weather such a change in career path. Transitions are difficult and require a lot of community support. That is why the AA community it there, when you need it.
