“Horizon’s Rule Of Thirds” [Series of Reflections on David du Chemin’s Book The Soul Of The Camera - pp. 212-221]

“There are no rules – and that’s a rule”
Like, duh – what comes from in this school,
Is useful but it illustrates
The part they missed – from which I take –

Great hope – for “Rules” – “No rules” debate
Shows in our work, the pix we make –
As to all points of view on life,
Which is the point, is true in spite –

Of predilection for one view
On money, sex, and power too;
Transparent are all forms of art,
With “Tells” which flag the place to start.

Our learning benefits at first
From principles in wit or list;
Then once we’ve passed the troubled shores,
We’re out at sea to troll for more.

For mankind’s built for water’s deep –
Once we have gained our sailor’s feet,
We’re able to find lands quite strange
Which lie beyond Horizon’s range.

Thanks Lord for this.
