“The Flow” [Series of Reflections on David du Chemin’s Book The Soul Of The Camera - pp. 180-191]

A photo-mentor, sponsor-like,
Is good for us, improves our sight;
Best one or two, at most, at once,
Or conflicts turn you to a dunce.

I think of Ken, my thesis man –
“This is your work – I’m scrimmage-fan;
In end you’ll take, or not, my views;
But this is yours to win or lose”.

I think of mentors in my day;
Of mentoring for free or pay;
Rich benefits both ways; a spell,
Then we moved off when finished well.

The “vision” is the base on which
The expectation works its grace
(Or not); but always, “Worth” comes in –
“If not quite right, now re-begin?”

Receptive, open hearts are key
To working well, that growth might be
The end result of all such chat,
As we once more, step up to bat.

Thanks Lord for this.
