“The Poem” [Series of Reflections on David du Chemin’s Book The Soul Of The Camera - pp. 79-93]

A poem is a spiral piece,
Components planted back at least
A thousand thousand years ago,
Conjoining in some pen to show –

New juxtaposition in the rain
Which, in the sunshine, looked the same;
For hidden flows millennia
Here in mind’s cafeteria.

Embrace the fog and slush of day;
Embrace constraint – refuse to say,
“My thought is too constrained today”
But rather find some other way –

To mix that concept in new ways;
Constraint is where creation plays –
The mess we see? Creation’s soup –
Brings forth the best, yea, Eden’s fruit.

Once you can sense creation, then
Take action – grasp the nearest pen,
And capture, run with thought that’s new
And see where that will lead you to.

Thanks Lord for this.
