“Handling Mystery” [Spanish series also] [Series of Reflections on David du Chemin’s Book The Soul Of The Camera - pp. 118-127]

The best of pix, he seemed to say,
Have mystery which inter-plays
With what’s included in the frame –
A hint included sparks the game.

For just outside, is context a large;
Holds what the viewers now find hard; –
Just when they’ve seen it all – one glance
Explodes that the myth with second chance.

So don’t play linguist, foreign tongues
Have roles to play – but when among
Those speaking different language base,
Let them inside – this chance don’t waste.

Of course if all is spoken of
It stifles mystery, because
No room is left to wonder “Why?”
Or let imaginations fly.

Lord, that says loads to me today –
About my Spanish – let folks play
With You in language they all speak,
For mystery in You they seek.

If I stay silent, stop the flow,
Who from their group will ever know
What treasures You have brought to them –
So learn to speak, then share again.

Thanks Lord for this.
