“A Body Of Work” [Series of Reflections on David du Chemin’s Book The Soul Of The Camera - pp. 58-65]

Emergence comes with time, my friend,
In you, in others – comprehend
What’s yours each moment, but hang loose,
As “sets of work” emerge – like goose –

That flies to catch the “vee” above,
Persistent in the chase, because
It’s easier to fly the “vee”
Than fly alone, it plainly sees.

So persevere in art you make;
Then harness time and your mistakes,
For they’re essential to the mix –
Those building blocks which do not “fix”.

Then learn to out wait anyone,
And in the meantime have some fun;
The scenic route still gets you there;
Life cycles ’round, so be prepared.

Thanks Lord for this.
