“The Man”

I thought it was the local boys who stole
My research (Masters level) – on the whole,
They were complicit – but what lies behind
The system – all along it’s been “The Man”.

The publishers have research all locked up –
Three billion made by one – now there’s a schmuck;
We public pay, then pay for use at all –
That fellow took them on, and took the fall.

O Lord I hate “The Man” – throws power ’round,
And tosses others off the mount to ground;
It riles me up to where it’s hard to sleep;
Lord, help me stay in You, Your peace to keep.

“Stu, up above that layer of earth there is
Another layer, up beyond the biz
Of “man” or “woman”, “boy” or “girl” – who e’er
Purports to do balloon-thing, filled with air.

“Don’t sweat it, Stu, they lose out in the end;
As all do, who My ways take up and bend;
Abide in Me and I in you – you’ll see,
It’s all baloney – Kingdom is of me.”

Lord, thanks for this – I was so riled up,
I guess because this week for me is tough
(When all the best got flushed away forthwith);
It’s like on best of life around they spit.

“They do, and always have, my friend – recall
Our Easter-weekend days – thought they were tall;
But always, folks forget to raise their eyes,
To see Who’s looking down from in the skies.

“I warned old Adam it was going to hurt;
But he knew best, and did with evil flirt;
But in the end old Adam died, though took
A while to topple over – read My book.

“So let it go, as you just hunger, thirst;
It’s not so much what’s done, e’en at their worst;
The worst is yet to come – vengeance is Mine,
So let it go; get on with life; you’re fine.”

Thanks, Lord, for Your assistance on my way;
Thanks for this layered-life where we can play;
Thanks for the folks who’ve made a better place
On earth, from Kingdom-layer, for human race.

Thanks Lord for this.
