“Exit, Voice, And Loyalty” [War – Sub Series Number One – Reflections on Timothy Snyder’s Book, On Tyranny – Poem #20 – Chapter 20]

There’s “Exit, Voice, and Loyalty”,
That book reflects – when people leave,
They leave their voice inside the mess
To clean things up – and so confess –

(As those at home think on this case)
“Their loyalty was suspect; haste
To leave confirms our point of view –
So think on that in world of that’s new.

Of course, the Jews who did not leave
Got killed; the West did not believe
They were worth saving, flew on past
Death camps to better targets blast.

At least this guy is right one way –
Those still inside now pine away
For better place to feed their souls,
While males of species live like moles.

So courage? Lord You died for all –
For “femi-nazis”, folks who call
Themselves as “Commies”, “Fascist pigs”,
For those who seek to justice rig –

Thus changing “justice” to “just-us”;
Who seek to generate a fuss
No matter what the cause they choose –
The fight’s the thing – ’bout win and lose.

So what of us as time clocks on?
Are best days of our lives now gone?
I doubt it – stop and roses smell –
For they grow on, come heaven, hell.

Thanks Lord for this.
