“Learn” [War – Sub Series Number One – Reflections on Timothy Snyder’s Book, On Tyranny – Poem #16 – Chapter 16]
So learn from peers as Nazis, Commies, did;
And Fascists too, as you for winning bid;
He speaks of peace, but war is in his heart;
Learn, yes, of course, but don’t from truth depart.“Keep bags all packed, and passports in your hands”
This guy sings out, and Jews all understand,
As Mennonites, though both diluted are;
When shooting starts, not either will get far.He doesn’t say to learn the other’s view –
Just save your butt, (do that, and all will lose) –
For now when shooting starts it is “the bomb”;
That’s end for all (or pulse without a sound).Again he says – go gather info tales
From other folks – but more to truth impale;
For just our side is danger at its peak –
Sure, travel, talk – but broaden what you seek.Thanks Lord for this.
