“Blessed Indeed” (Spanish Jerusalem Bible – Matthew 5:10)
His father said, “I’m happy, blessed”
In which he happily confessed,
“My boys know what they want to do,
And I’m excited for them too”.He (and his wife) a couple are,
Like ones from Sandy Lake, afar,
Which every congregation has –
They’re “there”, without the razzmatazz.But to such folks go halt and lame,
Unseen by most, but they have been
Each blessed through pain, some far-off day
In which for justice each have paid.Not always in this sense I mean,
But more, just not “just-us” they’ve been,
But opened up their hearth and home
To folks like me, who tend to roam.Lord in this Spanish word I hear
What last night’s incident made clear –
There’s cost involved for acting thus;
But Kingdom rides across such fuss –And such as these know Kingdom-life;
From such as these we learn a type
Of life which flows from Kingdom-layer,
And from such folks flows answered prayer.Lord, thank You for Your gift these days
Of folks like this – Your Good Word says
We’re blessed by them – how true indeed –
You brought these folks; through them met need.Thanks Lord for this.
